I tried to keep everyone's attention on the few key issues that needed to be addressed, but we kept getting off track with general complaints and asinine(나귀의, 어리석인, 우둔한, devoid(~이 없는) of intelligence) suggestions.
After debating, I decided that I should not get off track.

to delay someone's progress
retard(~을 늦추다, 방해하다, 지연) someone or something
An injury slowed down the runner.
The ice on the road slowed us down.

good points and bad points.
Each technology has its pros and cons.
They sat for hours debating the pros and cons of setting up their own firm.
